Privacy Policy

We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal information. When you build a countdown, we store only what you explicitly provide — event title, date, color, and optional image or map — saved under a short random ID that becomes your shareable link. The only other data we collect is anonymized usage analytics via Google Analytics. If you upload a photo, it is stored temporarily and automatically deleted one week after your event date.

Event metadata: When you submit the form to create a countdown, we store your event title, date, color theme, and any image or map URL you provided. This data is saved in Netlify Blob Storage under a randomly generated ID (e.g., a3f8c21b09). This ID becomes the shareable URL for your countdown. We do not store any information that identifies you as the creator.

Analytics data (via Google Analytics): We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate. This may include pages visited, time spent, device type, browser, approximate country, and the referring website. This data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally.

Uploaded images: If you choose to upload your own background image, that file is stored on Netlify Blob Storage, associated only with your event date — not with any account or identity.

• Your name, email address, or any contact information
• Account credentials (there are no accounts)
• Any information that ties the countdown to you personally
• Payment information (the service is completely free)
• Location data beyond what Google Analytics captures at the country level
• Any data from the countdown pages your guests visit

Analytics: We use aggregated, anonymized data to understand which features are used, identify technical problems, and improve the service. We do not run targeted advertising.

Uploaded images: Images are stored solely for the purpose of displaying them on your countdown page. They are never shared with third parties, analyzed, or used for any other purpose.

Google Analytics — collects anonymized usage data as described above. Google's privacy policy applies to this data: policies.google.com/privacy.

Pexels — when you search for background images, your search query is sent to our server, which queries the Pexels API. Pexels' privacy policy applies to API usage: pexels.com/privacy-policy.

Netlify — our hosting provider. Netlify may collect standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) as part of normal hosting operations. Netlify's privacy policy: netlify.com/privacy.

Google Maps — if you add a location to your countdown, the map is loaded directly from Google's servers. Google's Maps privacy policy applies.

If you upload a personal photo, it is stored on our servers for the sole purpose of displaying it on your countdown page. Images are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers one week after the event date you set.

If you do not provide an event date, your image is deleted 60 days after upload. We do not retain backups of deleted images.

We do not set our own cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies in your browser to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by using a browser that blocks third-party tracking.

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR (European Union), CCPA (California), or other applicable laws, including the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you.

Because we do not collect personally identifiable information, there is typically no data tied to you that we can retrieve or delete. If you uploaded an image and wish to have it deleted before the automatic deletion date, contact us at the address below and we will remove it promptly.

This service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided information through this service, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
