Terms of Service

By accessing or using The Countdown Builder ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors and users of the Service.

The Countdown Builder is a free web application that lets you create shareable countdown timer pages for personal events. You provide an event title and date; we generate a unique URL you can share with others. Optionally, you can add a background image, a color theme, a location map, and a QR code.

The Service is provided free of charge with no subscription or account required.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload, share, or link to content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
• Upload images or content that violates the intellectual property rights of others
• Distribute malware, spam, or any content designed to harm other users
• Attempt to interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Scrape, crawl, or automate requests to the Service in ways that place unreasonable burden on our systems
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose under applicable law

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms and to terminate access to the Service for users who repeatedly or severely violate them.

Event details: Your event title and date are encoded in the URL you receive. We do not store them on our servers. You are solely responsible for the content you include in your countdown URLs.

Uploaded images: By uploading an image to the Service, you confirm that you own the image or have the right to use it, and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights. You grant us a limited license to host and serve the image solely for the purpose of displaying your countdown page. This license expires when the image is automatically deleted.

We are not responsible for content uploaded by users and do not review uploaded images in advance. If you believe an uploaded image infringes your rights, contact us for removal.

Uploaded images are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers one week after the event date you provided, or 60 days after upload if no event date was given. We do not retain deleted images. You should keep your own copy of any image you upload.

The Service itself — including its design, code, and original content — is owned by The Countdown Builder and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Background images searched through the Service are provided by Pexels under their respective licenses. You are responsible for complying with the license terms of any image you use.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Countdown Builder and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of countdown URLs, or service interruptions. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed $0, as the Service is provided free of charge.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We may also change these Terms of Service at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you should stop using the Service.

Countdown URLs generated by the Service may stop working if the Service is discontinued or if significant technical changes are made. We strongly recommend saving a copy of important countdown information outside of the Service.

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in good faith through direct communication before any legal action is pursued.
